Backside of Dodge Charger drivers door handle
with a Jimmi' Jammer® plate affixed to it.
|
< The photo to the left shows a Jimmi' Jammer® plate mounted to the backside of the door handle.
The plate surrounds the lock cylinder area, covering the seam between the handle and door metal, blocking access to the lock rods inside the door. (Lock and handle rods are not shown here for clarity.)
The area to the left of the picture is the vulnerable spot. The thief will pry in under the handle and move the lock rod attached to the little purple clip shown in the picture. |

Why do they pry in near the lock?
On some vehicles, the factory alarm will not activate when entry is gained using this method. The alarm is triggered at the door latch, so the alarm brain thinks a key has been used to unlock the door because the rod moved at the latch!
With the Jimmi' Jammer® installed, the lock assembly is shielded from prying.
< To the left shows how the plate covers the area behind the lock, inside the door creating a barrier between the lock rods and the outside world. |
What about the other doors on the Charger? |
Your front passenger side door may not have a lock in the handle, but the rods behind the handle are still there so they need to be protected!
A front door kit will come with a plate for each door and you should put them both in!
We do not make a rear door kit for the Charger due to the different door construction.
